The author has read her book to to hundreds of children and adults at schools, civic, church and educational organizations. The book offers one look at how bullying gets started. Her enthusiasm and love of writing, reading and performing are easy to share with people of all ages. Each appearance often makes for a varied program depending on the time limitations. The book does not talk down to children, and suggests that libraries and dictionaries are wonderful ways to find answers to an unknown word.
This book is basically for ages 6/7-9.
Group discounts for purchase of book and CD packages can be arranged in advance.

Presentations can be tailored to accommodate different ages and group sizes
Typical visits include reading parts of the story; discussing the issues of teasing,bullying (presented from a personal viewpoint, not as an expert) and name changing, singing (there is a song in the book), some fun with choral reading, and, encouraging children to use their school and local libraries.
Chellis reads excerpts from the story which can lead to discussions and conversation on teasing, bullying (understand she is not an expert) , name changing, hands on "choral reading", group singing (there is a song in the book).
In response to a number of children who express disinterest in reading or writing, she loves to encourage children with ideas and suggestions and even some fun exercises.

The author is available for book signings and readings. Whatever the age, Chellis' background as an entertainer comes through as she shares parts of her book and personal experiences with her audiences.
